Marking the answer sheet

Post by dyslexichelpneeded »

My DS has been told by his class teacher that it is alright to ring, on the ANSWER sheet, the numbers of any questions that you want to come back to later. He has been told that so long as he keeps the markings small, it's OK, and won't interfere with the computer marking process. Can anyone confirm this?

I would not have thought this was right.

The instructions are very specific about it being a line just through the box.

Can you check with the LEA?

NO! NO! NO!

The only marks on the answer sheet should be the pencil marks within the allotted boxes.

Any questions he wants to come back to must be circled on the QUESTION sheet. He can scribble all over that to his heart's content.

Why, oh why, are there teachers incapable of reading basic instructions.

Sorry DHN - in a bad mood about the whole thing right now!

Sunshine Sally-Anne will be along shortly! 8)

Well, I've phoned admissions, who have talked to the 11+ team. After much discussion at the other end, it would appear that if the child makes a small mark by the question number on the answer sheet, it shouldn't interfere with the marking of the paper. Any paper that shows any anomalies (marks that don't make sense to the software), are ejected by the machine for hand marking.

Definitely would NOT risk it. Mark the question sheet only.

Afterall a child, could get confused and mark it too much or on the wrong part etc.
